Schedule AppointmentAlex is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. She received her Masters in Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and has experience providing intensive, in-home therapy services to families. Alex also has experience providing school based and outpatient therapy services to children and adolescents with significant social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
Alex utilizes a trauma-informed perspective and a strengths-based approach to empower and instill hope in her clients. She recognizes the need for every individual to have a safe, understanding, and open space to share their experiences and feel heard. This compassionate validation is balanced with supportive challenging in order to encourage change. She supports her clients in gaining awareness around their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to disrupt negative patterns, and increase a client's sense of control over their responses and interactions. For this reason, she especially loves working with teens and young adults as they gain independence and navigate life transitions.
Her experience includes working with individuals who present with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, parenting difficulties, low self-esteem, peer conflict, trauma and family challenges. She has been trained in a variety of interventions and modalities including TF-CBT, Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Therapy, Ecosystemic Family Therapy, and Trauma Treatment for Children and Adolescents.
