Depression is a complex mental health condition that affects how you feel about yourself, others, and the world. Depression can range from mild to severe and includes various types, such as Major Depressive Disorder, Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia), Postpartum Depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder.
When struggling with depression, you might experience persistent sadness, negative thoughts, feelings of worthlessness, and a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. Physical symptoms like changes in appetite, sleep disturbances, fatigue, and difficulty in focusing or making decisions can also occur. In severe cases, thoughts of self-harm or suicide may be present. To be diagnosed with depression, these symptoms need to last for at least two weeks and represent a significant change from your previous level of functioning.
We believe in a holistic treatment plan that includes a variety of evidence-based therapies. Our therapists work on aspects like interpersonal relationships, trauma, cognition, and behaviors that contribute to depression.
For those with treatment-resistant depression, we offer innovative options like N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) Receptor Antagonists. In 2024, we are excited to introduce Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to our array of treatments.
At Mind Align Psychiatry, led by Dr. David Danish, we are dedicated to providing personalized, comprehensive, and innovative care to help you navigate and overcome depression, aiming for a healthier, more balanced life.
